In the summer of 1938 I emigrated to England, where I worked and visited night school. I sat for University entrance examinations at the University of London and obtained a stipend to study at the University of Leeds in 1942.

1960 C.Sc. (Candidate of Historical Sciences) Charles-University, Prague
